God’s Love For You

John 17:23
I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.

Do you think God the Father loves His Son? How much do you think God loves His Son? No one would probably question the love God has for His own Son, but many question God’s love for them. Yet Jesus reveals to us in n this verse that the Father loves us the same as He loves His Son Jesus. Many would question if that is true, but if you believe the words of Jesus that is exactly what He said so it must be true. Some would say they don’t feel like God loves them but that is where they make the mistake of walking by sight (feelings) and not by faith (His Word). The greatest proof God loves you is seeing the picture of Jesus on the cross for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him would have everlasting life. The reason it is so important for us to know and believe the love God has for us is because perfect love casts out fear. If the devil can keep you in fear your faith won’t work. Settle it in your heart once and for all, God loves you just as He loves Jesus. Walk in the reality of that love and you will walk free from fear.

Love God

John 14:23
Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; …

God has revealed His love for us by sending Jesus to the cross. There is no doubt about God’s love for us for that love was revealed to us when Christ bore our sin, sickness, punishment, and shame on the cross. For greater love has no one then to lay down their life for another. But how is our love for Jesus revealed? Jesus tells us in the above verse. If we truly love Him we will keep His Word. When you talk about obedience to the Word of God today many say you are teaching legalism and bondage. But obedience to God’s Word brings liberty not bondage. Jesus said if you become one with His Word, you will know the truth and the truth will set you free. In the Old Testament they were to obey God’s Word because it was the law. In the New Testament we obey the Word of the Lord because of love. Faith works through love. Faith is acting upon and in line with the Word of God. But our faith only works when we do so because we love Him. Our love for the Lord is revealed in our obedience to Him.

We Can Do What Jesus Did

John 14:12
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.”

Jesus said it was not Him but the Father in Him that did the works which He did. In Acts 10:38 we are told that God anointed Jesus with the Holy Ghost and power who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil. Jesus did not do the miracles He did because He was God, if that were true then we would not be able to do them for we are not God. Jesus most certainly is God who came in the flesh to the earth, but He did the works by the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Upon putting our faith in Jesus Christ we can do the same works Jesus did because it is the same Holy Spirit living in us that was with Him. He has given us a Helper to do the work. Now all we have to do is believe in Him, and we too can do the same works He did by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is the Head, we are the body. We are His hands and His Word spoken in this earth. Step out in faith and know that you have the same Holy Spirit in your life to do the work.

Abundant Life

John 10:10
The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

We know God is not a thief, so anything that involves stealing, killing, or destroying is not from God but from the thief himself, satan. It is interesting to note that this verse in it’s context if you read the previous nine verses here you find out Jesus begins by teaching us that any shepherd who did not come through the door (which He tells us He is that door) is a thief. Jesus, according to Ephesians 4, is the One who gives us the five fold ministries gifts, which includes the pastor (shepherd). What Jesus is teaching us is that any pastor not gifted (called) by Him is a thief. This is the primary way satan steals, kills, and destroys through false doctrine and deceptive teaching. Paul called them teachers who would tickle one’s itching ears. So if we don’t want to be taken advantage of and we want to experience the abundant life God has for us, we need a shepherd who will teach us as Paul also said, “the whole counsel of God.” Beware of having your ears tickled and only hearing what you want to hear but not receiving all of scripture, for when you receive the truth it will set you free to enjoy life to the full.

Just Believe

Mark 9:23
Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

There is nothing impossible for those who walk in Bible faith. Faith believes in the heart what God has promised us is true and takes hold of that promise. Faith speaks in line with what one believes, and faith acts upon the Word of God. Find scripture that gives you the promise of what you are believing for. Meditate on those verses until they become real to your inner man (your spirit man). Then release your faith believing you have received when you pray, and stay in faith calling those things that do not exist as though they did. Faith does not deny the existence of a problem or obstacle, but denies it’s right to remain. Faith does not look at what is seen, does not become occupied with the natural, but it looks at what is not seen, the promise of God’s Word that is not yet manifest but sees it as a present day reality. Faith also acts upon the Word of God for faith without corresponding action is dead. We must act upon what God’s Word says. What man says is impossible, God says is possible to them that believe. Just believe!

Rest For Your Soul

Matthew 11:28
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]

In the book of Hebrews we are told the children of Israel did not enter into the rest God had for them because they did not obey what God told them to do. The Bible calls that unbelief. Unbelief is when we hear what God’s Word says, but we choose not to do what it says. Jesus is the Word. When we come to Jesus and get born again, and then come to the Word and learn of His ways and do them we find rest for our souls, as our souls (minds) are renewed. Don’t be like the children of Israel who through unbelief did not obey God’s Word. Unbelief is based on the theory’s or the ways of man, but faith is based on the facts of God’s Word. Walk by faith, choosing to come to the Word of God and doing what it says, and you will walk in His rest as you see your faith in God work for you; for when you walk by faith and not by sight you are resting in God.

He Purchased Our Healing

Matthew 8:17
This fulfilled the word of the Lord through the prophet Isaiah, who said, “He took our sicknesses and removed our diseases.”

Jesus at Calvary carried away for us both our sicknesses and our diseases. The prophecy of Isaiah 53:4-5 has been fulfilled. All we have to do is receive by faith in our hearts what He has already done for us. Healing is not initiated in the physical, it is spiritual and it manifests in the physical body. Sickness did not come from the physical realm because there was none in the beginning of creation until a fallen spirit named satan came and led man into rebellion against God. This opened the door for sickness to come. Healing is a part of the salvation package purchased for us by the stripes Jesus bore in His body. We know therefore it is God’s will to heal us. Jesus Himself was anointed by God and went about doing good, and healing all who were oppressed of the devil. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Many often question if it is God’s will to heal them, but Jesus proved it is His will for us to be healed. No one who came to Jesus in faith for healing was ever turned away. Jesus healed everyone who came to Him in faith. So it is today for He has not changed. If we come in faith believing in our heart we receive when we pray, we shall have what He has purchased for us.
