About Pastor Darryl Baker

My walk with Christ began in 1985 having received Jesus into my life at a Bible Study one night. I was a professional bull rider at the time and little did I know of all God had for me. Since that time my wife and I birthed the church we now pastor, Christian Faith Fellowship in Roanoke Texas. I have a passion for helping people become all they can be in Christ, and for raising up other ministers. I also travel and speak with a gift to teach the Word of God especially in the area of discipleship. There is nothing like seeing other people set free and growing in God. I am very blessed with some great spiritual fathers. Dr. Mark T. Barclay, Dr. Hilton Sutton, and Rev. Coy Huffman.

We Can Do What He Did

John 14:12

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.”

Jesus said it was not Him but the Father in Him that did the works which He did. In Acts 10:38 we are told that God anointed Jesus with the Holy Ghost and power who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil. Jesus did not do the works He did because He was God, if that were true then we would not be able to do them for we are not God. Jesus most certainly is God who came in the flesh to the earth, but He did the works by the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Upon putting our faith in Jesus Christ we can do the same works Jesus did because it is the same Holy Spirit living in us that was with Him. He has given us a Helper to do the work. Now all we have to do is believe in Him, and we too can do the same works He did by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is the Head, we are the body. We are His hands and His Word spoken in this earth. Step out in faith and know that you have the same Holy Spirit in your life to do the work.

Abundant Life

John 10:10

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

We know God is not a thief, so anything that involves stealing, killing, or destroying is not from God but from the thief himself, satan. It is interesting to note that this verse in it’s context if you read the previous nine verses here, you find out Jesus begins by teaching us that any shepherd who did not come through the door (which He tells us He is that door) is a thief. Jesus, according to Ephesians 4, is the One who gives us the five fold ministries gifts, which includes the pastor (shepherd). What Jesus is teaching us is that any pastor not gifted (called) by Him is a thief. This is the primary way satan steals, kills, and destroys through false doctrine and deceptive teaching. Paul called them teachers who would tickle one’s itching ears. So if we don’t want to be taken advantage of and we want to experience the abundant life God has for us, we need a shepherd who will teach us as Paul also said, “the whole counsel of God.” Beware of having your ears tickled and only hearing what you want to hear but not receiving all of scripture, for when you receive the truth it will set you free to enjoy life to the full.

Living Water

John 4:14

…but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.

For all who are in Christ they now have within them a well of water from which they can draw from anytime, the Holy Spirit. If you had a natural well of water but never made the effort to draw water up from that well you would become weary and dry from a lack of water. So also do many Christians become weary for they either have never placed their faith in God to be baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues (a heavenly language), or once they have they do not daily draw from that well by praying in this heavenly language. In Jude 1:20 we are told that we build ourselves up when we pray in the Holy Spirit (our heavenly language). When you do you are drawing water from the well and therefore you will not become weary. This is why the devil has brought so much deception in the area of the baptism of the Holy Spirit for he wants you to grow weary. If you have not been baptized in the Holy Spirit just ask the Lord in faith. If you have, draw from that well every day from which you can receive refreshing by praying in your heavenly language and you can experience the rivers of living water.

Speak To The Mountain

Mark 11:23

“Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him.”

In Christ Jesus you have the ability to move mountains. Jesus did not say ask God to move the mountain, you command it to move. A mountain represents any obstacle that stands between you and that which God has promised is yours in Christ, or that which tries to stop you from carrying out His will for your life. Jesus gave an example before He spoke this to His disciples. He had spoken to a fig tree that was producing no fruit and He declared that no one would eat fruit from that tree again. At that moment it did not look like anything had changed. But the next day when they passed by that tree Peter noticed that it was now dead. Likewise you do not talk to God about your mountain, you speak to it using the faith of God and it will move. The faith of God comes from the heart not your head. So don’t talk to God about your mountain. Take your faith and speak to that mountain with no doubting in your heart, believing what you say will come to pass, and it will move!

All Things Are Possible

Mark 9:23

Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

There is nothing impossible for those who walk in Bible faith. Faith believes in the heart what God has promised us is true and takes hold of that promise. Faith speaks in line with what one believes, and faith acts upon the Word of God. Find scripture that gives you the promise of what you are believing for. Meditate on those verses until they become real to your inner man (your spirit man). Then release your faith believing you have received when you pray, and stay in faith calling those things that do not exist as though they did. Faith does not deny the existence of a problem or obstacle, but denies it’s right to remain. Faith does not look at what is seen, does not become occupied with the natural, but it looks at what is not seen, the promise of God’s Word that is not yet manifest but sees it as a present day reality. Faith also acts upon the Word of God for faith without corresponding action is dead. We must act upon what God’s Word says. What man says is impossible, God says is possible to them that believe. Just believe!

Matthew 18:11

“For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.”

Once you come to know Jesus you are no longer lost, you have been saved. The word saved is defined as: to rescue from danger or destruction, to save one from disease, to make well, to heal, restore to health, to deliver from the Messianic judgement. If you know Jesus you are no longer lost, you have been saved. You are not going to be you already are. To walk in the reality of all Christ has done for us you must believe in your heart it is already so, for faith does not see what Christ has done for us as a promise to come, but a present day reality for faith is present tense (now faith is). It is no different then salvation for the sinner. God has already done what is needed for one to be born again. They must simply receive by faith what He has already done, and so it is with all we have in Christ. We need to see what He has done as a completed work. When you do then you will walk in what is already yours for you have been saved!

How Yo Find Rest

Matthew 11:28-29

28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

In the book of Hebrews we are told the children of Israel did not enter into the rest God had for them because they did not obey what God told them to do. The Bible calls that unbelief. Unbelief is when we hear what God’s Word says, but we choose not to do it. We instead choose to live life our own way. In doing so we are not taking His yoke upon us and learning from Him, and therefore we are going to be heavy laden in life as we are taking life on our own. But when we come to Jesus and get born again, and then come to the Word and learn of His ways and do them, we find rest for our souls, for our soul (our mind) needs to be renewed. Don’t be like the children of Israel who through unbelief did not obey God’s Word. Unbelief is based on theory or the ways of man, but faith is based on the facts of God’s Word. Walk by faith, choosing to come to the Word of God and doing what it says, and you will walk in His rest as you see your faith in God work for you; for when you walk by faith and not by sight you are resting in God.
