Win The Battle of The Mind

2 Corinthians 10:5

5 Putting an end to reasonings, and every high thing which is lifted up against the knowledge of God, and causing every thought to come under the authority of Christ;

What determines whether we walk in victory or defeat? It does not matter what area of your life you may be dealing with, it is our thoughts that will determine our outcome. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. If you accept thoughts of disease, sickness, lack, defeat, that is what you will get. If satan can hold you in the realm of reason, accepting all that is revealed to you in the natural, he will win every time. But if you hold him in the arena of faith, you will win every time. To do so you must put an end to reasonings contrary to God’s Word, and you must bring every thought into obedience to the Word of God. Difficult to do if you do not live in God’s Word. Victory or defeat is up to us. We can accept the status quo, or we can believe God’s Word. The choice is ours. Can I get any amens!

Raised Up With Christ

Colossians 3:1

Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

All who are in Christ should change their focus in life. We should get our focus off of the natural world and get focused on the realm of the spirit, putting our focus on God and the things of the spirit. Looking to God’s Word helps us change this view of life. Doing so will help us to see things from God’s perspective. The key to getting this new view on life is to just accept God’s Word and don’t try to reason it out with your mind. God’s Word is truth. The Bible does not say God’s Word is true, but truth. You may see things in the natural that are true, but God’s truth can change what is true in the natural if you just don’t question the Word of God. When you come to God’s Word you should say, “If God’s Word says it, I believe it, and that settles it.” So look to the Word and start seeing things from your new position in Christ, seated with Him at the right hand of God.

He Tasted Death For Us

Colossians 2:13

And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,…

One who is in Christ no longer resides in death (separation from God) for Jesus has forgiven us of our sin by becoming sin for us (removing what stood between us and God). We have been made alive together with Jesus Christ. You are one spirit with Him. God told Adam if he sinned he would die. Before Adam sinned all that God had made was good. After he sinned evil entered into the world through the death that came from man’s sin. Death (all that is not good) reigned in the earth and over man. Jesus has tasted death for all so that man could be restored to life by our union with Him, and now by faith in Christ reign in this life over death and all the evil that came as a result of that death. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Remove the taste of death from your mouth by speaking words of life, declaring what you now have in Christ. As a child of God death no longer has dominion over you. See yourself as one with Christ, victorious over death and all the evil that came as a result of that death, for you have been delivered from death and have been made alive with Christ. Death and evil no longer have dominion over you.

Alive With Christ

Ephesians 2:5

Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ; [He gave us the very life of Christ Himself, the same new life with which He quickened Him, for] it is by grace (His favor and mercy which you did not deserve) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation).

Our Heavenly Father has given us the very same new life as Jesus Himself through our union with Him by the Holy Spirit. Jesus revealed to us how we can follow in His example to walk In this new life. Jesus said that He only did what He saw the Father doing, and He only said what He heard the Father say. Imagine how different believers lives would be if they followed in the Lord’s example of doing and saying only what the Father leads us to do or say. We can follow His example by looking to God’s Word each day and filling our hearts with the Word of God for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. If we fill our hearts with God’s Word, we too will begin to say what God says. We can also begin to do only what we see the Father doing through the example of His Word and through following the inward witness of the Holy Spirit. Feed on God’s Word and follow Jesus’ example of only saying and doing what we see from our Heavenly Father and you will walk in the very life of Christ Himself.

The New You

Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

Who is Paul referring to that was crucified? He was of course referring to his spirit man, not his soul nor his body. The disciples in referring to themselves in the first person referred to their spirit within, the real you. Most Christians are body or soul conscious because when talking about themselves that is what they are referring to. You must become spirit conscious if you want to walk by faith in the body you live in, for faith comes from your heart not your head. You are a spirit, not a body nor a soul; you have a soul and you live in a body. Once born again we are to walk by faith not by sight. But if we associate ourselves as a body or a soul and we are not spirit conscious we will walk by sight and not by faith missing out on what God wants to do in and through us. So go to the New Testament and start meditating on the scriptures that reveal the real you. These are the “in Christ” scriptures just like the one above. This will make you conscious of your spirit man, the new you. Develop the man on the inside, and you will learn to walk by faith and not by sight.

He Has Already Given Us All Things

Romans 8:32

He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things.

By our faith in what Christ has done, God the Father has given to us salvation by His Son being delivered up for us, so will He also freely give to us all things. We receive them by faith as a gift from God just like salvation. All that God has for us is based on what Jesus has already done, there is nothing more for Him to do. It is now up to us to receive what we have in Christ. Just like being born again God has already done what is needed for every person to receive the gift of eternal life. Scripture tells us that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself. God is not going to do this, it is already so. It is now up to the sinner to receive what He has provided for him. So it is with all Christ has done for us. Many believers are waiting on God to do something but God is waiting on us. Everything in the kingdom of God is reciprocal. If we draw near to God, He will draw near to us. God has fulfilled in Christ all that is needed for us. We must act in faith upon the Word of God to receive what we have in Him. As Smith Wigglesworth used to say, “Faith is an act.” In the same we we acted upon God’s Word for salvation so we must do to freely receive from God what He has provided. If you are waiting on God guess what, He is waiting on you. Act in faith and you can freely receive all things from God.

Love Like Jesus, Live Like Jesus

1 John 4:9

By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him.

The word “live” in this verse is defined as, “to enjoy true life”. There is only one way you can enjoy true life. You must live through Jesus, not through the old you. Jesus is our example. To live through Him one must learn to walk in the love of God. Jesus told us in His Word that we now have a new commandment to follow. We are to love one another as He has loved us. When we walk in love we follow His example and are therefore living our life through Jesus. Scripture teaches us that faith works through love. Jesus lived a life of faith because Jesus lived a life of love. To walk in the love of God is a choice we make, and it takes practice. It is something we choose to do. The love of God is in our new recreated spirit. Walking in love is choosing to walk in the new you, instead of the old fleshly outer man. To walk in the love of God simply means you treat other people the way you want to be treated, no matter how they treat you. For example Jesus on the cross looked to the very ones who crucified Him and asked the Father to forgive them for they did not know what they were doing. Choose to walk in love and you will live your life through Jesus Christ. In doing so we can enjoy “true life”, the kind of life Jesus lived.
