Walk by Faith – Stand in Grace

Romans 5:2
…through whom (Christ) also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

The grace we have through faith in Christ is defined as: A divine influence that leads to living a life following after the example of Christ. This divine influence called grace, which can also be defined as heavens help, is available to us through faith. If you want to stand fast in this divine influence of God to help you in this life we must choose to walk by faith. In the book of James chapter 2 verse 17 we are told faith without works (corresponding action) is dead, devoid of power. Our faith in Christ is not only seen in receiving Him, but then following after Him. This is what being a Christian (a Christ follower) is all about. Faith is not just praying a prayer, but in surrendering our life unto the Lord. To call upon the name of the Lord means we make Him the Lord of our life. He is the One we look to and follow after. We are told to put on Christ. Putting on Christ is like putting on a parachute. If you just have a parachute but don’t put it on and jump from a plane it does you no good. When you put on Christ it is like putting on that parachute. You are putting your full trust in Him by adhering to and following after Him. As we walk by faith we are standing in the grace God has given to us through Christ Jesus.

The Door Is Open

Hebrews 10:19
Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus,…

Here we see the primary reason that Jesus shed His blood for us so that we could once again approach God unashamed and have fellowship with Him. The enmity that stood between God and man was removed by the blood Jesus shed for us. Once you are born again you now have complete access to the Father. Through spending time in the Word of God and prayer we can approach Him with absolute confidence knowing that He will receive us. The devil will try to keep us from drawing near to God by trying to convince us that we are not worthy to come before God, but through Christ we have become worthy completely cleansed from the old sin nature. Satan will also try to keep us away from the Father by being getting us consumed with other things. Don’t allow the devil to lead you away from God by giving in to such temptations. The door is open and your Heavenly Father awaits to fellowship with you. Take time to draw near to Him and He will draw near to you. You will be glad you did.

Listen To Your Conscience

Hebrews 9:14
…how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

The conscience is the voice of our spirit. When we were born again because our spirit man was made new our conscience was cleansed. The Bible teaches us that God will lead us by His Spirit bearing witness with our spirit. As we develop spiritually we can begin to learn the difference between our soul (mind, will, and emotions) and our spirit man. The more we do the easier it becomes to be led by God listening to the voice of your conscience. If you abide in the Word of God you can learn when your conscience is leading you because when the Holy Spirit guides you through this inward witness it will always be in line with God’s Word. This witness with your conscience will come as an inward knowing, a peace within, or what some call a green light when God is leading you in a certain direction. When you are headed the wrong direction their will be a feeling of unrest or an inward knowing to stop, which will seem like a red light. So live in the Word of God and learn to here and follow the voice of your spirit man, your conscience, and you can follow God’s plan for your life.

Redeemed Say So

Hebrews 9:12
Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.

By the blood of Jesus we have obtained His eternal redemption. Redemption means to be liberated from bondage. We have been redeemed from spiritual death, sickness and disease, poverty and lack. Redemption from spiritual death not only means we have been liberated from the old sin nature and made a new creation, but we have also been liberated from identifying with that old nature. Our identity (were we find our value and worth) no longer comes from the world but from God. So don’t devalue yourself for you are children of the most high God. We are redeemed from all sickness and disease for by the stripes of Jesus we are healed. We have also been liberated from poverty and lack because once you are born again you are an heir of God and a joint heir with Jesus. The redeemed of the Lord are to say so. Daily confess you have been redeemed (liberated) from spiritual death, sickness and disease, poverty and lack. Confession brings possession.

Your Faith & Hope Are In God

1 Peter 1:21
Through Him you believe in (adhere to, rely on) God, Who raised Him up from the dead and gave Him honor and glory, so that your faith and hope are [centered and rest] in God.

It is through Jesus Christ and what He has done for us that we are able to put our faith and hope in God. Your faith is based on God’s Word and nothing else. Jesus is the living Word made manifest and fulfilled all that was needed for us through His life, death, burial, and resurrection. So base your faith on the Word of God. Take hold of what scripture says about who you are, what you have, and what you can do. Focus fully on His Word and nothing else. Place you hope in God. Hope is a confident expectation of good. To keep your hope strong give praise and thanks to God everyday. Take time to fellowship with Him in the Word, and pray often in the Spirit for this will make you more aware of His presence. Hope will anchor you soul, helping to keep your mind, will, and emotions in check. With faith in His Word and your hope in God it will you to stand fast and overcome.

Sacrifice of Praise

Hebrews 13:15
Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

Thanksgiving should be a part of the believers life everyday. Notice it says in this verse we are to continually offer thanks, even as a sacrifice of praise. It’s easy to thank God when things are going your way, but what about when you may be going through a storm in life. What about when you are facing difficult circumstances. It is in those times you need to thank God the most, when you don’t feel like giving thanks. But if we go by how we feel we certainly are not walking by faith based on what God’s Word says. We don’t thank God for the storm but for what He has done to help us overcome the storm. In all things, in every situation of life, we are to be thanking God for what He has done for us through Christ Jesus. When believers lose their heart of gratitude they become bitter not better and this will only rob you of what God has for your life. Don’t allow the enemy and circumstances in life take from you the gratitude we should have for God. Continually thank God for what He has done for you through Christ Jesus and you will see God bring you through victorious in Christ Jesus.

Reconciled

Colossians 1:19-20

19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell,

20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.

The word reconcile means to change from one condition to another, to remove all enmity and leave no impediment to unity and peace. We have been reconciled unto God through Christ. We are a new creation on the inside and we are now one spirit with the Lord. When you accept the sacrifice of Christ by receiving Him as the Lord of your life the sin nature within that stood between you and God is completely removed, for you become a new creation in Christ. To walk in this unity with God we must learn to yield now to this new man on the inside, for the carnal nature of the fleshly man is still opposed to God; but when we choose to follow the new nature within we will walk in newness of life. This new life is a liberation from the old nature and it will lead you to walk in unity with God and all God has for you. Walk in the liberty you have been given by choosing to follow this new creation on the inside by learning to listen to this inward witness God has given to you, and you will experience life and that more abundantly that Jesus has provided for us.
